Ever wanted a personal black panther? Then Nick is the cat for you! This elegant Bagheera is young, smart, and very polite. Both playful and calm, he’s mostly silent but loves to spend time with people (though you will hear him chirp softly when he’s hungry). He won’t sit in your lap, no, that’s not Nick, Nick is a serious cat. However, he will be glued to your thigh or back looking at you with a wicked green eye telepathically demanding pets. He curls into a croissant shape when he sleeps, and he loves dogs! Both small and larger dogs, he treats as siblings and invites them to play.
Nick is a bit unlucky to have gotten some renal issues - it’s rather rare for such a young cat. He was diagnosed in April 2025 and now he’s on a special diet (not standard kibbles for spayed cats but the Early Renal type). Even though his condition may progress in the future (lots of senior cats get renal issues, which is sad, but very common), as long as he’s on the diet he will live a normal long life just like any other cat. For instance, one of the cats that we worked with was 17 years old, and he had been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in his youth. During the last 7 years he’s been on the diet and not only does he feel great and healthy, his kidneys have restored to the earliest stage of his condition! We truly hope that Nick - a sturdy boy - will have a future just as bright since his symptoms were immediately noticed, diagnosed and he is being properly cared for.
